Dr. Laura Robison-Rabe, D.M.D., M.S.

Dr. Laura Robison-Rabe was born and raised in Farmington, New Mexico. She knew that she wanted to be an orthodontist from the time she, herself, was a little girl who benefited from extensive orthodontic treatment. Her first-hand experience brings insightful understanding and a firm commitment to excellence for each individual patient.

Dr. Robison received a bachelor’s degree in science at the University of New Mexico. She then obtained her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree at Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland, Oregon. While in dental school she did an internship at the University of Glasgow Dental School in Scotland. Following dental school, Dr. Robison went directly into an orthodontic residency at the University of Detroit Mercy, receiving her certificate in orthodontics and a Master of Science (MS) degree.

Upon graduation in 2008, she also achieved the prestigious status of Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. Becoming a board certified orthodontist with the American Board of Orthodontists is a rigorous professional credentialing that only 20% of all practicing orthodontists obtain in their careers.

In February of 2008, Dr. Robison joined Dr. Weaver at Dr. JAW Orthodontists and has since assisted with the expansion of the practice by opening offices in Oro Valley and Sahuarita.

Outside of the Office

While in residency, Dr. Robison met Dr. Rabe who she was married to in March of 2010. As a couple they truly appreciate the ability to have one another as a companion in life and a companion in their orthodontic career. Together they have two sons, Connor and Caleb, and their “baby” a Great Dane named Hank who weighs 175 pounds! Connor and Caleb are 16 months apart and are Dr. Robison’s pride and joy.

Dr. Robison loves to spend time in the outdoors skiing, golfing, running and hiking. She also enjoys many other activities such as aerobics and travel. Her favorite way to spend her free time is with friends and family.

Community Involvement

Commitment to the community is extremely important to Dr. Robison. She enjoys teaching the dental hygiene students at Pima Community College and cultivating young talent. She provides shadowing opportunities, office scholarships, and a practice that is staffed with well-experienced role models who encourage the pursuit of careers in dentistry.

As one a Southern Arizona’s only female orthodontists, Dr. Robison finds herself in a unique position to serve as a mentor to young women in her practice and in the community.  She hopes to encourage adolescent girls to develop confidence in themselves, to embrace their unique appearances, and to pursue their aspirations. She is also very active in Southern Arizona Dental Society, Pima Study Club, Spear Study Club and as a volunteer with the Junior League of Tucson.
