Why Early Treatment
We consider it best to start treatment at an early age because by utilizing interceptive orthodontics we can take advantage of arranging things as teeth erupt. We can prepare areas so that there is enough space for the teeth to come in. By utilizing expanders that can actually open up the airway and make the jaws wider, we can allow more room for teeth to come in straight. There a lot of different things we can do while the patients are growing that might make it easier on the patient rather than waiting until they are fully grown and not taking advantage of that time.
Signs Your Child Might be a Candidate for Orthodontic Treatment
There are some obvious things to look for such as crowding, overbite and underbite. However there are a lot of other things and untrained eye cant and that’s why we recommend coming in for a free exam.
What are Malocclusions and Why Treat Them?
Malocclusions are where the upper and lower jaws don’t line up correctly. We treat them because it’s important to have a good balanced bite so that when patients are chewing, the teeth come together properly and they are able to chew their food appropriately. The appearance is better and it helps with self esteem. There are many reports that show certain malocclusions increase the chance of TMJ problems.
We Provide a Fun Environment for Everyone
Getting braces can actually be fun for a child. Our young orthodontic patients enjoy picking out the rubber band colors, our games and prizes, and participating in our rewards program.
Orthodontics for Teens
For teens, we are getting a lot of requests for Invisalign. Invisalign can’t be used to treat every case, but it can be used for many. Clear braces are also very popular as well as Lingual braces which can do just about anything regular braces can. Out of the three, Invisalign and Lingual braces are the most requested.
